How does the process work?
First of all, please contact me through my 'Contact' page submission form, email address or quote form and let me know what you are interested in and any time scales you are working towards.
I will respond with a quote and confirm whether I have the availability to complete your order in the time frame given.
When you decide you wish to go ahead, please contact me again and let me know of any ideas you have; we can work with certain flowers to match your bouquet or colour scheme, add any words, phrases or song lyrics of your choice, anything at all is possible - between us we can create something special! I would appreciate it if you could send me photographs of the jacket, front and back, so that I can see the style and where the seams lie, as this will effect the design possibilities.
Once I have come up with at least two possible ideas, I will send you the rough sketches for you to choose from; you can of course make any suggestions for changes and I will endevour to incorporate your ideas and send through another sketch.
When you have agreed on a design, you will need to post me your jacket and ensure that it is sent securely (Royal Mail Tracked and Signed or Royal Mail Special Delivery or by a Courier), as I'm afraid I cannot be responsible for anything that goes missing.
A 50% non-returnable deposit will also need to be paid at this point, and this will need to be received before painting can commence, this ideally is sent through PayPal.
I always send through progress photos of your jacket, as I think it is very important to keep you as involved and up to date with progress as possible, and once I have finished the jacket, I will send you photographs of the finished article for you to see, aprove, and hopefully, love!
At this point the remaining 50% balance will need to be paid. Once this amount has been received I will package up your jacket, and post it back to you securely. Again, ideally payment through PayPal, although other options are available. Then all that is left is for you to wear and enjoy your bespoke hand-painted jacket, which is as unique as you are!
Please note that, unfortunately, I cannot take any responsibility for the item once it has been shipped.
What type of paint do you use?
I use Angelus paint, which is designed especially for use on leather and has amazing vibrant, long lasting colour that is flexible and hard-wearing.
How long does it take?
The time it takes to complete a jacket depends entirely on the size of the jacket, the amount of design there is, the complexity of the design and amount of text, so it is impossible to give an exact timescale, however, I will always work to any timescale given and will ensure the jacket is with you on time. I prefer to over-estimate on the time it takes to do and then finish it earlier than expected, rather than over-promise and let you down. Please be assured I would not take on a commission if I didn't think I could complete it in time!
How much does it cost?
Again, the cost depends on many factors, as mentioned above, so I cannot provide set prices. Please request a quote through my website with any ideas you have and I will be able to provide a more accurate price.
What type of jackets can you paint?
I can paint on leather or faux leather, denim, suede and faux suede (I have special paints for the non leather types!) and will happily paint bride, bridesmaid's, groom's, best man's, flower girl and pet jackets (or anything else you can think of)- obviously the more there are, the longer it will take to complete - so as much notice as possible is needed for large orders.
Can you paint anything else?
I paint other items, including boots, shoes, trainers, bags, purses and even leather dog jackets - and I am certainly open to any further suggestions!
Can you buy the jacket for me?
I am happy to search and find a second hand jacket for you, as long as you let me have your size and any preferences on style, however, I always think that it works best with a jacket that you already know and love! The decision is yours - I will try and help as much as I can throughout the whole process. Of course the cost of the jacket would be added to the painting cost should you go for this option.
Will my jacket be individual?
Absolutely!! I work with your ideas to ensure that every piece is as much of a one off as you are! All jackets are hand-painted, no transfers or stensils are used, with this in mind, please be aware that they may not always be completely perfect (like the person painting them!).
Can I wash the jacket after?
I wouldn't recommend putting the jacket through a wash, however, sponging will be fine and the design will be weatherproof and wear well as long as it is looked after!
Do you only do Wedding jackets?
Absolutely not! These jackets are the perfect accessory for all types of occasions, not just Weddings; hen do's, stag do's, proms, engagement parties, holidays, festivals - or just because you really want one! Treat yourself!
Do you ship outside the UK?
Certainly do! I post worldwide, however, you would be responsible for covering the shipping and any customs charges and I cannot be held responsible for any losses.
I still have more questions!!
That's fine - I am always happy to answer any questions or chat through any suggestions - so please contact me through the 'Contact' page and we can have a chat!
